American contender for Middleweight title, Jake La Motta, in training to meet Marcel Cerdan, the French middleweight champion at Detroit. La Motta, also known as The Raging Bull, was born on July 10, 1922 in The Bornx, New York. He died aged 95 from complications of pneumonia in a nursing home in Florida on September 19, 2017.

Berry was born on October 18, 1926, in Missouri. He died of a suspected heart attack at age 90 on March 18, 2017, in Missouri.

Hefner was born on April 9, 1926 in Chicago. He died at age 91 of cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, sepsis and an E. coli infection on September 27, 2017 in California.
