It's been a good seven years since comedian Trevor Noah has been at the helm of hosting The Daily Show and now he is ready to hang up his mic filled with gratitude for the journey.

In the show's Twitter handle a clip was posted of the comedian reflecting on the show as  this week is their seventh anniversary. He also announced his departure from the show.

Here are five moments from The Daily Show that got Trevor's name on the lips of  many after he addressed some issues featuring worldwide celebs.

In a recent episode of The Daily Show, the SA-born comedian said he was baffled that critics were enraged by a make-believe character.  

“The story remains the same. It’s just that the Little Mermaid is now represented as a black woman, so stop being ridiculous. It’s imaginary.”

Trevor Noah calls out 'double standards in media coverage of Russia and Ukraine conflict

In the episode of The Daily Show, the SA-born host shared several viral clips of reporters reporting on how Ukraine was not a “developing nation or third world country”.

Trevor criticised the reporters for being stunned by the violence unfolding in a “relatively civilised” and “relatively European” country.

Trevor Noah has weighed in on the controversy about Kim Kardashian wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress at the Met Gala in May this year.

This after the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star denied damaging the fragile dress. 

In a recent episode of The Daily Show, the comedian and presenter said the reality star had “poor judgment” and could have chosen to wear anything else to the event.
